As an interior designer, I was very impressed with the level and quality of the hotel decor. The Japanese style room we selected gave us the feeling of a traditional ryokan while in a more modern hotel environment. The Mineral Onsen was delightful, as was the staff, who were a tremendous help to me in finding my way around and navigating the transportation system. They even booked me a massage in my room on an hours notice and made me an appointment to rent my Geisha Kimono for a day in Gion, which I highly recommend for all female visitors.

The staff was able to speak English quite well, which was a kindness and very helpful to us. The location was close to Kyoto Station and convenient to restaurants in the area. There was a convenience store close by. The rooms had a small refrigerator. The bathrooms had ample space for two people. There were storage closets we were able to use. Each room had a table and chairs for eating, school work, etc. We used the laundry facilities and found them to be reasonably priced and convenient.

Situated near to main railway station, easy walk. This is a very good hotel for a western traveller to get an experience of Japan. Breafast was japanese, and of course very different from what we eat at Europe. But this is the idea of travelling: you see something else, and though I did not always know what I was eating, and started to like it more and more. So in the fifth morning I think this was already part of me. Onsen was an extra, which completed the experience.

Very clean, very conveniently located in walking distance from the station, eateries, buses. Tastefully designed with lots of thoughtfulness, tranquil. Made good use of the onsen which was a relief after long days of exploring. Very nice, special breakfast was a nice start to the day. Very professional, courteous staff, I will stay here again and highly recommend! The laundry room was small but the machines are efficient.

Nice location, 5 minutes walk from Kyoto station. We had a budget level room in the first night. The hotel has a really nice Onsen Bath which is included in the room rate. All rooms have individual air condition. Windows to the street have an inside “door” with traditional look, which makes it look like a ryokan room. All amenities are in the bathroom, even water kettle and tea are available at the room.
